At Your Convenience

Convenience stores are great because you can pick up necessary food items such as chips, cookies, soda, milk etc. when you're in a hurry. But one thing they lack is a good produce section. If someone wants to eat healthy there is a little basket located directly below the cash register with one banana, a solitary apple, and a single orange to choose from. And yeah these are left touching the wrapped chocolate or bran (depending on the strength of your eyesight) muffins which are about a month old. I was about to pick up the orange when I thought, "Wait a minute how come none of the customers before me bothered to touch these?"

Convenient comments anyone?

I would love to see a convenience store that is all about organic convenience... local, organic, raw foods readily available, perhaps with a smile if you're lucky. Right next to the handicapped parking spots would be the bike rack and a couple lounge chairs for the walkers.

Even better are the plans I'm concocting for "local, organic fast food." Seriously, it cannot take more time to make celery and carrot sticks with peanut butter along with hummus on a pita or rice and fish or a FRESH, organic, chicken salad than it does to microwave a cheeseburger and deep-fry some pre-frozen potatoes!

Convenient for the robber...the drunk...the people that need to roll things...the big gulp people, you know who you are...gas..gas producing burritos...folks that like low paying jobs and a real chance to be on Americas most wanted as the victim, but they always make the actors better looking than the folks that were killed...but NOT convenient for those looking for fruit..you need to go to a rest area for those type of things and be partial to guys named Duke that long haul truck and don't have time for convenient hookers...

I am skeptical of any convenience store fruits and vegetables. I am worried that they have been there as long as the hot dogs!

I think I wouldn't mind the inconvenience of going to a grocery for good produce section.
